I like to print out birth announcements when our babies are born, but some of the pre-made birth announcement options are pricey!! My husband’s cousin tipped me off to the idea of using Microsoft PowerPoint to design my own birth announcement and invitations. She also recommended finding and downloading free fonts from http://www.dafont.com. Genius!
Here is the sample birth announcement I made as a PowerPoint file (same as the picture shown above, but editable):
It is easy to play around with the announcement (changing dates/names/pictures) on PowerPoint. Once you have it how you want it, convert it to a JPEG so that you can have it printed out onto photo paper.
To do this (on a Mac), go to File, Save As, and then click on Format and scroll down to JPEG. It’s that simple!
